Louise Merquiol
PhD degree in Marine Sciences
Taxonomy and trophic ecology specialist
As a marine biologist, my work is dedicated to nature and its wonders. I am specialised in marine plankton biology, trophic ecology and historical ecology but my main interests lie in the protection and conservation of the ecosystems. My drawings come from my extensive background in Zoology, Marine Biology and Scuba diving. I am literally immersed in the field of these fascinating subjects.

As an artist, my goal is to shed light on the beauty of nature. My illustrations are based on naturalistic observations. I like to represent flora
and fauna with accuracy, but I also like to be creative and make my own representations of living organisms.
I create designs for all kind of supports: presentations, posters, logos, publications, t-shirts...
I am curious by nature, and my determination always guided me to acquire new competences, to
travel without limits and to meet new people. In my work, I like to combine my knowledge of science
with art to support my research with personal concepts and designs. With confirmed and multidisciplinary skills, I can provide a large set of expertise with
pertinence and creativity.
